Johnny Urban was founded in 2016 in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel district and stands for modern, functional backpacks, bags and caps. Many models in the Eco Series are made from recycled polyester (rPET) – sourced from PET bottles, PFC-free coated, and produced in BSCI-certified factories.
The Eco Series – made from recycled PET
The Eco Series is the heart of the range. The main material is recycled polyester – sourced from PET bottles that would otherwise end up in landfill or the ocean. In 2020 alone, 1.2 million 0.5-litre bottles were processed this way. The fabrics are PFC-free coated, making them low in harmful substances.
The best-known Eco models are the roll-top Aaron (18 L), the compact Robin (12.5 L) and the junior version Aaron Junior for children.
